When you think of James Franco I’m willing to bet the last thing you think of is the channel Lifetime, let alone him lending his star to actually being in a Lifetime movie. But for those of you who were secretly wishing a Lifetime movie that included Franco would rule your Saturday night before the Super Bowl, you’re in luck. Why is he even in a Lifetime movie you may ask? He’s a producer of the movie. In this made-for-TV film, a teenage girl (Dead of Summer‘s Paulina Singer) worries her dad (Franco) when she gets involved with a famous actor (The Borgias‘ Francois Arnaud).
I think it’s safe to say that James Franco does whatever he wants and I’m also willing to bet he just wanted to be in this movie to so he could sport that creepy mustache. I wouldn’t be surprised if Franco has something up his sleeve with this movie. Could it be for money? Doubtful. It’s certainly not to broaden him as he’s one of the most highly academically qualified actors in the world.
We may never know what motivated James Franco to do “High School Lover” but it’ll still be fun watching him on Lifetime. That’s uh, if I, errr, watch it. Maybe he lost a bet to Seth Rogan? You can check out High Schoo Lover tonight at 8pm and some clips from the movie below:
