Stephen Colbert didn’t waste any time attacking the PEOTUS Donald Trump on last night’s show. While Colbert’s guests were actress Sarah Paulson, from Gold The Movie, actor Corey Stoll, and a musical performance from Nick Grant Music, attention was and will be on politics for the foreseeable future. The attention went to Donald Trump’s response to congressman John Lewis after Lewis made statements that Trump couldn’t be a legitimate President.
Trump of course took the low road by saying “Congressman Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested), rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk, no action or results, sad!”
Obviously Colbert has his own response for Trump. Seriously though, it was Martin Luther King Jr. day and Trump spent his time literally attacking a known civil rights leader. Colbert then goes on to try to predict what Trump will say when it comes Easter.
While the country is having a field day with Trump coverage, the reality is that this is clearly good for the talk shows. Assuming we make it out alive in the next four years, it’s going to be pretty fun watching all the guys on late night trading barbs about the soon to be POTUS.
