Have you ever wanted to know more about the “real” creator of Batman? What about George Lazanby, the actor who played James Bond in only a single film before deciding to move on from the franchise?
It a continuing effort to compete with Netflix, Hulu has announced that it will be launching a new line of original documentaries that will tell the untold stories in pop culture. The line, named Limelight Documentary Series, will be exclusive to Hulu, and the SVP of Global Content, Craig Erwhich, says that it’s a project the service has been working on for quite a while. There are many different stories in the works for the series, including those mentioned above as well as the story of Shepard Fairey, the artist who is best known for creating the “Hope” poster that was used in 2008 in President Obama’s presidential campaign.
We don’t yet know when the documentaries will begin releasing, but it has been confirmed that anyone with a Hulu account will be able to access the films with no additional cost.
By comparison, Hulu’s competitor Netflix launched its own documentary line a couple of years ago.
