“Do you like being an adult?” Stephen Colbert poses the question and then offers the ideal solution to his guest on The Late Show, Will Arnett. To get away from the stresses of being a grown-up, Colbert retreats to his blanket fort once in a while.
It’s a fun scenario that adults and kids alike can relate to, because who doesn’t miss building forts and having sleepovers with friends? Colbert and Arnett regress into their childhood innocence under the all-powerful blankets.
The guys talk about things only kids would, like how strange it is to see your teachers out in public. And did you know that cats and dogs can get married, but the cat is always the girl and the dog is always the boy? And hey, what REALLY happens if you sneeze with your eyes open?
They start to crack as they shove Twinkies and Ho-Hos in their mouths. Colbert answers perhaps the biggest question Arnett asks, which is “why do adults drink alcohol?” According to Colbert’s childhood persona Steve, they need to drink it – “otherwise they don’t know how to laugh.”
Watch the clip for yourself here. I promise you won’t need alcohol to help you laugh at this!
