Once the leading child actress in Disney Channel’s famous sitcom Good Luck Charlie, Mia Talerico is now a 17-year-old high schooler.
Those unfamiliar with the series would still likely recognize Talerico from a viral meme: a scene where she, as Charlie Duncan, wears a pink jacket and ponytails, looking utterly baffled.
The actress recently shared a major life update on social media, which left her fans and followers feeling “ancient.”
“Our Charlie is all grown up, time sure flies,” one person commented.

Talerico was cast in Disney’s Good Luck Charlie as a 2-year-old toddler and was six years old when the show ended.
Since then, she has reprised the role in Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! and Jessie, and worked on a couple of other projects as well.
However, her recent update had nothing to do with her professional career.

On August 19, 2026, she shared a series of pictures on Instagram, announcing that she was about to start her senior year of high school.
“Last First Day! Now I’m starting to feel old,” her caption read.
In the photo, she wears a pink dress and slippers, with her hair down, standing on a lawn in front of short palm trees.

Netizens showered Talerico with best wishes in the comment section, but many were also surprised to realize how long it has been since she starred in Good Luck Charlie.
“Time goes by so fast,” commented the Instagram account of Disney Plus.
“You make a TV Dad proud,” said Eric Allan Kramer, who played Charlie’s dad, Bob Duncan, on the show.
“I saw you as a baby in arms on TV, girl! Good Luck, Charlie!” one fan wrote. Another said, “It gives me chills to think that I literally watched her grow up.”
“Crazy, we watched her as a baby, and she barely remembers that era of her life,” said a third person.
A fourth commented, “Our baby is growing up.” A fifth said, “I feel old. It feels like it was just yesterday I was watching her on my TV.”
“I remember watching the first ever episode of that series like it was yesterday, and now I’m 21,” said one more.
One person came up with the idea of a spinoff: “I think Disney needs to do a one-time special of Charlie going off to college.”

In August 2025, Talerico revisited her Disney Channel days at a Destination D23 event.
“It’s so weird,” she said. “So many people know who I am, but I don’t know them. I think that’s a really surreal feeling.
“Obviously, I was so young that I barely remember a lot of it. But I’ve heard so many stories, and watching it back is truly like a family scrapbook.”
The year before, E! News reported that Talerico did not recognize any of her former co-stars at a reunion.
Jason Dolley, who played Charlie’s older brother PJ Duncan, told the outlet that the cast members saw Talerico at their co-star Bridgit Mendler’s (Teddy Duncan) engagement party in 2019, and she could not recognize anyone.
“It was so strange because we all knew her, and she was looking at us like she knew she was supposed to know who we were but genuinely did not know who we were,” he said.
“It was like, ‘Oh right, her brain was still forming when we were carrying her around the set and stuff.’ This is a human being that has grown up and has their perspective on things. It was good, but it’s scary.”
He added that he was proud of Talerico’s decision to be selective with her acting projects and “doing things that make her happy.”
