In 2020, I decided to leave my job and start freelancing. Two months later- the pandemic hit. I soon found myself 24/7 in my room, constantly scrolling through bad news on social media, with almost no work. That’s when I decided to create art about the everyday things that made me smile and to share it with other people, so they could have a welcome respite too.
I usually do digital illustrations and love using a lot of colors (comes from my Indian roots). A lot of my artworks club from a common theme of finding joy and comfort in the smaller things in life. I’m someone who likes to create my own happiness (must be a Capricorn thing) and you’ll see it being reflected in my artwork- a lot of them are from a single person’s perspective.
I usually take 4-5 days to finish one artwork. This involves research, sketching, figuring out colors, and then finally wrapping up with details. Not only has this whole process made me a more patient person, but I’ve also slowly begun to appreciate things a lot more and be a more grateful person.
