Kourtney Kardashian is on top of the world after marrying Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and adding another baby to her happily blended brood. After giving birth to son Rocky Thirteen Barker in November 2023, Kourtney shared her pregnancy and birth experience on the latest season of Hulu‘s The Kardashians. However, Kourtney’s reveals have shocked audiences more than intended.
After starting a relationship in February 2021, Kourtney and Travis had a whirlwind romance. The two got engaged by the end of 2021 and were married in a private Italian villa in May 2022. The pair were honest about their desire for more children throughout The Kardashians, and after answering a few questions from fans on Instagram, Kourtney admitted to five rounds of IVF and other fertility options. The couple finally got their wish with a baby boy, but were hilariously honest with how they induced baby Rocky.
Kourtney And Travis’s Intimate Admission
In Season 5 of The Kardashians, Kourtney was seen having contractions towards the end of her pregnancy. She and Travis went to the hospital with hopes of giving birth on Halloween, but according to TMZ, Kardashian was only 3 centimeters dilated with some bleeding. Not progressing, Kourtney and Travis were sent home until she was more dilated. With a long night ahead of them, they decided to speed up the process with an intimate confession.
“We went home, ate at Crossroads, showered, slept in our bed and then we have sex to get things going to see if that helps. That can help sometimes,” Kourtney admitted. As her contractions grew, she went back to the hospital and was soon in active labor. Her son Rocky was born the next day, on November 1, 2023.
Kourtney’s Life-Threatening Pregnancy Scare
As happy as the couple were to welcome a safe and healthy baby boy, it was a long road to birth. After having three pregnancies with zero complications with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, Kourtney had a life-threatening scare while pregnant with Rocky. Metro reported that on an episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney shared a harrowing experience.
“A couple of months ago, we had a terrifying scare where I had to have emergency fetal surgery for fluid in his lungs.” Kourtney continued saying the condition was “rare” and she was thankful they caught it early. “I was definitely filled with fear after the surgery and the fluid in his lungs actually did start coming back. Then I watched this documentary that was all about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can affect our health,” the Poosh founder shared.
The Journey To A Blended Family
When Kourtney and Travis began spending time together, it was a union no one saw coming. However, US Weekly shared that the twosome have been friends for years after living near each other and having similar interests. In 2018, US Weekly reported Kourtney and Travis were seen out and about together after trying different vegan restaurants, and later, attending a church service. However, nothing romantic between the two happened.
In 2021, fans speculated something was brewing between the two when Travis and Kourtney kept commenting on each other’s Instagram photos. They also shared different snaps of Kris Jenner‘s Palm Springs mansion, as reported by E! News. By October of the same year, US Weekly reported that a source close to the couple shared that Travis and Kourtney were “officially a couple.” Throughout their courtship, the two were seen loved up on social media, seen at concerts, and traveling the world.
Overcoming Past Traumas Together
A big moment for the pair was Travis’ first plane ride with Kourtney. According to People, Travis survived a horrible plane crash in 2008 and had a severe fear of planes ever since. It took his romance with Kourtney to get him out of his shell and travel again. Travis told Nylon, “[Flying is] still something very new to me, but having something that gives me the strength and hope to be able to overcome things that were so traumatic in my life, it just says a ton.” He continued, “She’s definitely that for me. I’m invincible when I’m with her. It’s just, like, I never dreamed, I never even considered flying again.” After starting their relationship in February 2021, the two were engaged by October of the same year. People reported that Travis let The Kardashians cameras film as long as he couldn’t see “one camera.”
After strolling a Santa Barbara beach, Travis led Kourtney to an area filled with rose petals. It was there he asked her to marry him. In May 2022, the couple were officially married at a Santa Barbara courthouse. A few weeks later, the pair did it big with a lavish wedding in Portofino, Italy, as reported by Brides. In June 2023, US Weekly reported that Kourtney appeared at Travis’ Blink 182 concert to show the audience that she was pregnant with their first child. By November 2023, their son, Rocky Thirteen Barker, was born safely. Although Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had a fast romance, it helped that the two had been friends and neighbors for years.
