Carter Hudson is an American stage and film actor who is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana. Before becoming a cast member on FX’s crime drama series, Snowfall, Hudson focused much of his work entirely on stage acting. The actor had appeared in several highly lauded off-Broadway productions nationwide and had gained some recognition among stage audiences.

In the early 2000s, aspiring actor, Carter Hudson, took a bold step by moving from his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana, to Texas. He got enrolled in Collin College and began taking acting classes. Not too long after, he transferred to SUNY Purchase in Westchester County, New York, where he enrolled in the school’s prestigious Conservatory of Theatre Arts.
After graduating in 2009, Hudson spent most of his time working as a stage actor. He has performed in productions like The Effect, a stage play by Lucy Prebble, and The Substance of Fire by Trip Cullman. Despite being an accomplished stage actor, make no mistake about it, Hudson is also built for the screen, as he revealed in Snowfall and the short-lived Apple TV+ series Dear Edward.

Hudson noted that he knew he had to warn his mother that some of her conservative friends may find some considerably questionable behaviors in this series, and they may have to be eased into it.
5. A Stage Fan Helped Carter Hudson Land His Role On Snowfall
Snowfall proved a critical and commercial success throughout its six-season run on FX, and Carter Hudson got to be a part of this. But before he could land his first major role in television, it took the help of a fan from one of his stage plays. The executive producer’s wife, Thomas Shlamme, is said to have recommended Hudson to her husband. The executive producer told Page Six at ATX TV Festival, “My wife, Christine Lahti, said to me one night laying in bed, ’You know, I saw an off-Broadway show, and this young actor was fantastic. You should read him,’ and I was like, Eh, we’ll see.” After reading his lines in New York, Carter Hudson was flown out to LA and landed the role of Teddy McDonald.
