Most movies when originally cut are extremely long. In fact some movies span over 8 hours in film time (most do not). So it’s obviously a very tough job deciding which scenes to delete, alter, and then mesh with other scenes to make a smooth moving picture. The editing, next to directing and acting, is clearly one of the most important pieces to a film. However, on occasion there are some deleted scenes that could or should have very well easily been in the film, whereas some might just be awesome. But you can tell that they probably didn’t have a place in the movie. I’ve found five such scenes. Hope you enjoy them
Shawshank Redemption – Red

I must say I’m quite glad these scenes got taken out. While they’re pretty awesome just as the entire movie is, one of the scenes just makes Red look like a pervert.
Terminator 2 – Return of Kyle Reese (click on the video)
This is a deleted scene from Terminator 2. It’s the scene which would have figured the return of Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) in one of Sarah’s dreams.
The Professional
The scene which was hidden from the American viewers for a decade. (It was added back in for some of the versions released after 2004.)
Besson’s original movie idea was more violent, and the relation between Léon and Mathilda showed much less ambiguities in the first version of the script. However, Natalie Portman’s parents did not let their daughter to play that part, so the director had to rewrite the script.
Looker
Deleted scene from the 1981 film Looker, written and directed by Michael Crichton. It’s a shame the deleted scenes were not included in the DVD release.

This is pretty funny, I have to say.
