Brendan Fraser is the Reason to Watch New Show “Trust”

He might not be the main character or even remain in the show for all that long but Brendan Fraser has made the show Trust watchable for a lot of people. So far the show hasn’t inspired a lot of confidence since it’s really kind of vying for viewers with the film version titled All the Money in the World, in which Mark Wahlberg takes on the role of James Fletcher Chace, the head of security for John Paul Getty Sr. As of right now Fraser, who’s been kind of MIA for a little while, is taking on the role a lot more convincingly than Wahlberg, who seems to be laying back just a bit too much to be all that memorable in the role.

Fraser has for a while been known as one of those folks that just dropped off the Hollywood map when he took a hiatus from the acting world. If anyone remembers his big heyday came when he starred in Encino Man, which wasn’t a great movie but is now a cult classic, and kept rolling onward as he made up for it with movies like School Ties and The Mummy. But when The Mummy Returns and the third ill-fated sequel came out his career started taking a serious nosedive. If you remember the movie Crash it might be that you just barely remember him being in it. For quite some time it seemed like he was doomed to live in obscurity and possibly fade into the background, but whatever’s been going on his life thus far he’s finally coming back a bit and has made this role into something that people feel is the saving grace of the show so far. It could be he finally found his purpose again and has decided to make a go of his career once more in an effort to be remembered as more than he was.

That would be great really since in his prime Fraser was something exciting to watch. The level of emotion and talent that he could put into a role was nothing short of astounding, and the comical side of him was something that was kind of nice to see too. Of course if you recall that side was sorely wasted in movies like Monkeybone, Furry Vengeance, and the Looney Tunes movie he starred in. His acting talent is so much greater, as evidenced by the part of Chace, than he’s been allowed to show in a long, long time. Maybe this will be his comeback to the life that he was living before he started rolling downhill without the brakes engaged. It’d be nice to see him stick around and experience a resurgence that could see his stock rise once again as he takes on more and more prominent roles.

Perhaps he needed time to mature, or just to think about what it was that he really wanted to do. If that’s the case then it seems like he might have found himself again and will be making us believe in what he can do in the near future.
