10 Things You Didn’t Know about “World of Dance”

You might love dancing or you might think it’s okay but not that great, but if you should chance to watch World of Dance there’s a big possibility that you will be blown away by what some of the contestants can do. In some cases you might even be kind of jealous since the fluidity and capabilities of the people on the stage are something that seem beyond human at times though it’s obvious that their level of skill and the strength they display is something quite impressive to behold. The show itself is something that a lot of people might not know about largely because so many talent shows have come down the line throughout the years that some people are just burned out and don’t want to invest as much as they once did in the idea that more and more talented individuals are obviously coming to the stage to show what they can do. But it’s worth it just to watch.

Here are a few things you might not have known about the show.

10. It’s been renewed for a third season.

So far people are loving the show and it’s become obvious since it has already run for two seasons and it was approved for a third back in May. How they’re going to keep topping themselves is anyone’s guess but right now the audience is enjoying this show and have made their voices heard.

9. The prize is $1 million dollars.

One would almost think that the exposure for their skills would be prize enough but $1 million is definitely going to make people work harder, push themselves further, and inspire them to put on a show that people either haven’t seen before or haven’t seen in a while.

8. Jennifer Lopez is also the executive producer.

She’s also one of the judges and when you can see her getting excited and jumping around then you know that it’s either part of the show or that she’s genuinely excited since she’s seen quite a bit in her career and knows more than a thing or two about dancing.

7. It started up in 2017.

It’s only been on the TV for a year’s time now out of two seasons but so far the show is gaining ground and should hopefully manage to stick around for a bit since the contestants that have come out and performed have been nothing short of amazing.

6. The Junior Team was added in the second season.

This category is for those that are under 18 and have five or more members. Adding this in seems like it might have been a way to make the show a little more family-friendly but it also gives a chance to those that have the skill in their younger years to show as much and wow the judges.

5. There are five different categories that the judges score on.

The contestants are judged on performance, technique, choreography, creativity, and presentation. Each dancer has to be on point when they’re out on the stage and their moves have to be precise enough to not just wow the judges but to give them the impression that they are out there to win and to be the best in the contest.

4. A group has to reach a score of 80 points to make it to the Duels.

If they make it to the Duels then a group can pick who they’re going to battle against and therefore just how hard their competition is going to be. Going the easy way might seem like a wise move but going against opponents that are equal if not stronger in skill is a real test and sure to impress the judges just a bit more.

3. Jennifer Lopez was once a dancer working her way up from the bottom.

Do remember that she was a Fly Girl from In Living Color back in the day and she worked her way up from the bottom move by move. This to her is kind of a homecoming since it allows her to watch others going through what she did in a way and gain inspiration in the same way in some respects.

2. There will be different versions in other countries.

Success breeds the need for other countries to follow suit and like many other shows the World of Dance will be seen in other countries in different ways as the magic and grandeur of the show is attempted by others.

1. Each group is assigned a mentor.

As much as each contestant probably already knows about dance and their own routine it’s still helpful to have someone there to guide them through the process and remind them of what the judges are looking for so that they can adjust their performance accordingly and really play to win.

It’s easy to admit to not being impressed before watching, but after just a few minutes this is an absolutely impressive show.
