Whatever Happened to the Cast of Party of Five?

The hit television show “Party of Five” aired on Fox from 1994 to 2000. The show aimed toward teens and young adults won a Golden Globe for Best Television Drama Series. Fans of the show remember how the stories delved into the lives and difficulties of the Salinger children. After their parents were killed in a car accident, the 5 children, ranging in age from 1 to 24, were left to pick up the pieces and face life on their own. The series had many of the typical teenage growing up storylines but also dealt with death of parents and responsibilities placed on the children, substance abuse, domestic violence and cancer. The series helped launch the careers of the actors playing the oldest Salinger children as well as other characters added to the cast during the show’s run.

Matthew Fox (Charlie)

Matthew Fox began his acting career with bit parts on television shows like “Wings” and the CBS “School break” special series before landing the role of the oldest Salinger child, Charlie. Charlie is 24 years old at the beginning of “Party of Five” and aged to 30 by the end of the series. Charlie was an immature womanizer before his parents died and was reluctant to take over the role of his younger siblings’ legal guardian. We saw him develop over the series and help his siblings deal with problems and even dealt with his own cancer diagnosis in season 4. Following “Party of Five”, Matthew Fox took the role of Jack Shephard on the hit psychological drama “Lost”. He was nominated for a Golden Globe award and won a Screen Actors Guild award. Following the end of “Lost”, Fox said he was done doing television, and was a stage actor in London’s West End. He went on to pick up roles in movies including “We Are Marshalls” and “World War Z”. Fox some legal troubles but has continued with film roles and his favorite hobby is photography. Fox is married to Margherita Ronchi and they have 2 children.

Scott Wolfe (Bailey)

Scott Wolfe’s breakout role was Bailey Salinger in “Party of Five”. The character ages from 16 to 22 through the series. He was a rebellious teenager who grew to be a responsible caretaker. Through the series he handled life’s ups and down while working in the family owned restaurant. He dealt with substance abuse and eventually settled down with his girlfriend Sarah played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. During “Party of Five”, Wolfe was engaged to actress Alyssa Milano but later married “MTV: Real World” alumna Kelley Marie Limp. They have 3 children. Wolfe has continued to act in television with his most famous role as Jack Hartman in “Everwood”.

Neve Campbell (Julia)

Neve Campbell played Julia, the sensitive and intelligent Salinger daughter who aged from 15 to 21 on “Party of Five’. The Canadian actress got her start in commercials and the Canadian television series “Catwalk” before “Party of Five”. Following the series, Campbell had a successful television and film career. She played Sidney Prescott, the star of the horror film series “Scream” and other films including “Wild Things”, “Panic” and “The Company”. She has guest starred in several television series including “Medium”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Mad Men” and currently stars in Netflix’s “House of Cards”. She and her boyfriend have a son born in 2012.

Lacey Chabert (Claudia)

Lacey Chabert got her start in acting playing Claudia, the precocious and gifted youngest Salinger daughter who aged from 11 to 17 through the series. Claudia was an expert violinist who managed the life of an orphaned tween to teenager. Following “Party of Five”, Chabert has had a successful career as a voice actress, film and television actress and singer. She played the role of Penny Robinson in 1998’s “Lost in Space”. Her voice overs included “The Wild Thornberry Movie”, “Rug Rats Go Wild” and “Family Guy”. She has appeared on television in guest roles for shows including “Ghost Whisperer” and has appeared in several Hallmark channel movies. She co-starred in the successful film “Mean Girls”. Chabert is married to David Nehador and they have a son born in 2016.
