What We Know about “Animal Kingdom” Season 3 So Far

Animal Kingdom has so far exceeded expectations while flying under the radar of a lot of people since it is the kind of show that fits a niche and isn’t a celebrated as others. But season 3 is going to be entering new waters for the Cody brothers considering that the way season 2 ended was more than a little chaotic and left a lot of implications on the table. Going forward things are going to get a little messier and likely not as easy to fix as they’ve been in the past two seasons. While the Cody’s might stick together it’s been seen that there are things that can cause them to back away from each other too.

Every family has some imperfect moments, but the Cody’s take that to a whole new level.

Baz probably won’t make it.

It’s already been heavily rumored that Scott Speedman, aka Baz, won’t be making it throughout the third season. He’s been seen on the set of another show already and as this will likely eat heavily into the time he could possibly spend on the show it’s likely that he’ll be stepping away. It’s too bad really since Baz was kind of a likable character and the kind of guy that can at least keep the others from flying off the rails on occasion. But now that he’s made his peace with Pope it seems as though his arc has closed.

J will be in charge.

This is hard to think about largely because J was so reluctant when he came into the family but it seems as though he’s stepping up just a bit more in order to find his place in the family. Whether or not he’s really going to be in charge is going to be interesting to see since Deran and Craig aren’t all that accepting when it comes to anyone but Smurf or Baz giving them orders. Pope is just another matter entirely. This dynamic will be fun to watch since J’s been coming into his own for a little while and might need to really man up to take his place as Smurf wants him to.

Things are going to start to unravel.

With the money gone, Baz in critical condition and with one foot in the grave, and Smurf incarcerated, Deran and Craig aren’t helpless but they’re also left with Pope as the only real viable leader among them, and his way of doing things is about as rough as it gets despite the fact that he thinks he can plan just as well as Baz. J might have to really step up at this point to assert himself and make it known that he has Smurf’s support.

Despite being in jail, Smurf will find a way out.

You know she’s going to find a way out. This is Smurf after all, the woman that’s been evading authorities and doing as she pleased for so long. If there’s any way out Smurf is going to find it and she’s going to exploit it to no end.

Season 3 is going to be fun, just watch.
