After a week long hiatus from The Late Show, Stephen Colbert was back from Easter Break and there was certainly plenty to talk about. First on the agenda was the White House Easter egg roll. But before that undoubtedly super fun began, the event was kicked off with the National Anthem. Only there was one problem. Donald Trump’s foreign wife Melania had to remind him to put his hand on his heart. Colbert’s reaction: “When I saw that footage I almost forgot to put my hand over my face.”
As things kept moving along with his monologue, Colbert shifted attention to North Korea. While talks of war are escalating there really wasn’t much Colbert could do other than make fun of the situation and he certainly had no problem at that. Colbert began to dissect the North Korean army and the rigors it takes to be part of this elite unit. To join the ranks of North Korea’s military it takes discipline, dedication, and some nifty dance moves. Stephen’s Monday monologue contains all three.
