I have an extraordinarily hard time believing that the Simpsons debuted while I was in elementary school, but here we are and the show has already signed a renewal for seasons 29 and 30. Last night was another Sunday which meant another episode of The Simpsons and another couch gag has passed us by. The renewal has ensured that The Simpsons will pass 600 episodes. While The Big Bang Theory will more than likely never reach this milestone, The Simpsons honored what’s easily the most popular network sitcom of the last decade by doing their own little Big Bang Theory introduction.
Despite the questionable inspiration, this is a neat way of running through the extensive history of The Simpsons. This is just another in a great run of awesome, unique couch gags taking inspiration from other popular TV shows. If you want to see a list of all the couch gags they’ve ever run head over to Wikia. While I cannot say that I love The Big Bang Theory’s introduction it’s always nice to see The Simpsons paying homage to anything in pop culture.
