Shameless is a hit comedy-drama series that is aired on Showtime. It is a remake of the British series of the same name that was created by Paul Abbott. In the United States, the series is now in its ninth season and this makes it the longest-running original scripted series in the history of Showtime. The series revolves around a dysfunctional family, led by the single dad of six Frank Gallagher. While some of the actors in the series already had an established career in acting prior to joining the series, there are others for whom this series has been the platform that has launched their careers. The cast members are extremely talented in portraying scenes of both comedy and drama, but which of them is likely to have the most success in their career post series?
1. Emmy Rossum
Emmy Rossum portrays Frank’s oldest child, Fiona Gallagher. She has taken on the role of mother to her younger siblings and has kept the family from going under despite their father’s problems. There is also a focus on her relationships in the series. In addition to acting in the series, Rossum has also directed two episodes. Rossum is already showing signs of how her career will explode when her run in Shameless comes to an end as she has three films in post-production for release in 2018.
2. Steve Howey
Steve Howey plays the role of Kevin Ball, Frank Gallagher’s friend and neighbor, in Shameless. Howey already had an established career in both the television and film industries when he began appearing in Shameless and has continued to work on other projects during his time playing Kevin Ball. This is a good indication that he will continue to enjoy success in various aspects of the entertainments industry. Some of the films in which he has appeared include ‘In Your Eyes’, Love on the Run’, and ‘Wrong Cops’. In 2018, he will play the role of John Kelly in the movie ‘Making Babies’.
3. Cameron Monaghan
Other than playing Ian Gallagher in ‘Shameless’, Monaghan his known for his roles in the television series ‘Gotham’ and ‘’Malcolm in the middle. ‘For the latter, he won an award for his performances. He has already established a career in the film industry and in 2017, he had roles in ‘The Year of Spectacular Men’ and ‘Amityville: The Awakening’. He has also made appearances in several television shows other than ‘Shameless’ in recent years. It seems that Monaghan is becoming a very in-demand actor.
4. Jeremy Allen White
Jeremy Allen White is best-known for playing the role of Phillip ‘Lip’ Gallagher in ‘Shameless’. Although he made a few one-off appearances in television shows prior to working on ‘Shameless’, this role is his main television role to date. However, he has also done quite well in terms of establishing a career in the film industry and has appeared in several films since 2006. He is clearly in-demand as he has a role in the film ‘Viena and the Fantomes’, which is set for release in 2018, and he is currently filming the movie ‘Shotgun’.
5. Emma Kenney
Although still in her teens, Emma Kenney has showed plenty of promise that she will have a successful career in the future. She has played the role of Debbie Gallagher since the series was launched in 2011. She has also appeared in several other television series and is now playing Harris Conner Healey in the new season of ‘Roseanne’. She has also had several film roles, including providing voices for the 2013 film ‘Epic’ and the 2017 movie ‘My Love Affair with Marriage’.
