Ever just look up or look around and notice that some part of the world around you kind of looks like something you’ve seen in pop culture? It might not be the same color, size, or shape, but it so closely resembles something that you’ve seen before that it’s uncanny. Take the Cookie Monster just above, there are a lot of things in the surrounding environment that might look like this hairy, crazy-eyed, cookie-eating maniac.
The Sorting Hat-Harry Potter
Interesting how you can just dimple a cone near the base and create this effect. Really though it does look very similar, almost like the hat’s evil cousin.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
It’d be kind of awkward to put your legs where the turtle’s mouth would be, but standing alone you can definitely see the resemblance.
Snoopy
As much at it might resemble the famous beagle this fire hydrant looks like something you might want to stay away from for a while.
Sully and Mike-Monsters Inc.
From the angle and the direction it kind of looks like they’re in a huddle of some sort.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens-First Order Trooper
This is one of those rare, coincidental moments when you’re leaning over and just happen to see something interesting.
Star Wars-Darth Vader
Either someone caught the light in this windshield just right or they’ve been getting better at photoshop.
Star Wars-Chewbacca
Sometimes you feel like a nut… At least it’s got the right expression down.
Guardians of the Galaxy-Groot
So would the one on the left be the more immature and still growing Groot? Obviously Groot’s already grown past his rooting stage.
Sesame Street-Cookie Monster
I almost want to say that this is photoshopped, ALMOST. But in truth a lot of strange things happen in nature, even if they don’t look entirely natural.
Spiderman: Homecoming
This couldn’t be any more perfect if a person tried. I mean have you ever really looked at the inside of an orange? I wonder if this is where the director got the idea.
Scream-Ghostface
I’m really tempted to say that this is a photoshop work just because the holes are simply too perfect to be believed. I could be wrong though.
Thomas the Tank Engine
Something about this kids’ story just creeps me out and I know I’m not the only one. The picture on the left just reaffirms that unease.
Batman
A gas cap? The silhouette is pretty distinctive but in all honesty it just kind of made me laugh really since it’s so simple.
Ice Age-Scrat
Okay now it’s getting a little silly. The idea and the overall shape is pretty close but there are enough differences to cite to make a case against it.
E.T.
So E.T. looks creepy enough really, but the one on the left looks absolutely horrific in comparison. Almost like someone shoved E.T.’s head in the oven and this is what happened.
Edward Munch-The Scream
It’s hard not to see this one once you look at the picture on the right.
See? Pop culture icons are everywhere we look.
