New “The Punisher” Teaser and Key Art Surface

Long awaited news about “The Punisher” has recently surfaced and the key art gives us some decent information in a condensed poster. Marvel has teamed up with Netflix to release the new teaser along with key art for the well-loved comic. A careful dissection of the art release along with the teaser, creates a solid picture for those who watched the second season of “Daredevil.” Here is what we’re predicting based on what we know so far.

Conspiracy is brewing

The poster hints at a government conspiracy. The first hint is the Punisher’s skull emblem that is made of a series of redacted documents and a tagline that hints at a conspiracy. Based upon Castle’s previous experience, this would make perfect sense.

Putting the clues together

The second season of “Daredevil” left us with Frank Castle who was deprived of his family because of a government operation that was intent on bringing down Blacksmith, the drug lord. Upon discovering that Blacksmith was his commanding officer from the Marine Corps days, he learned the hard way, that trusting the government could be very unhealthy for him and the people that he cares about. There seems to be little that is sacred to them and it is enough to shake the faith of their most committed servicemen.

A new mission

We’re informed that “The Punisher” is likely to have a military affiliation that is associated with Castle’s upcoming mission. We’ll be privileged to see flashbacks to Castle’s past military involvement, which will help to flesh out the plot and move the story line along. This may be one of the most exciting bits of information that we were able to extract. Fans awaiting news of the release are willing to take what they can get at this point. Marvel and Netflix are being careful not to release any spoilers.

The initial teaser made an introduction of the supporting cast for the show, but left the date of its’ premiere hanging. They did, however, publish 13 cryptic messages in Morse code, that gave out the titles of each of the 13 episodes which will be available on Netflix for the first season of the show.

There could possibly be another major character

Some clues have been dropped that Frank Castle may not be the only main character is the new series of “The Punisher.” There isn’t anyone who is willing to confirm or deny this, but the rumor suggests that it could be one of the Defenders. Another theory suggests that a possible major player could be Marc Spector. This is suggested this because he has a history with the military himself.

Premiere date

Marvel and Netflix are keeping this information under tight wraps for the time being. The only confirmation that they are willing to make is that it will premiere on Netflix sometime in the Fall. This gives us a range of possible release dates from September through November? If they’re trying to build excitement by withholding this important information, it’s working. There is anxious anticipation for any news of the exact date.
