Jim Kay, the artist behind the upcoming Illustrated Edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, had his own vision of what Severus Snape would look like and that image has just been released on Pottermore. While many of the Harry Potter characters in the films didn’t fully match the characters from the books, there’s no doubt that the Alan Rickman played Snape is a dead ringer to this illustrated version.
The illustrated editions of Harry Potter have dropped one a year so far, with Prisoner of Azkaban set to arrive in October 3, 2017. According to Pottermore, we should expect 115 new graphics in this particular edition. In addition to the arrival of the Prisoner of Azkaban Illustrated Edition, Harry Potter fans and collectors have the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Hogwarts House covers to look forward to as well.
Amazon currently has Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Illustrated Edition available for preorder for $30.42. I just want to point out that I really miss Alan Rickman. He truly was one of the greats. I’m glad that Harry Potter continues to roll on with new stories, images, clips, etc etc because we at least get to continue Rickman’s legacy from those films. And we’ll always have Hans Gruber.
