Do we have a mini Charlie Sheen on our hands?According to TMZ and The Hollywood Reporter, Angus T. Jones, who makes up the “Half” in Two and a Half Men, is now the highest paid kid in Hollywood at the moment with a reported $300,000-per-episode contract, which was filed by the Los Angeles Superior Court due to Jones’ status as a minor. This deal features a guaranteed $7.8 million for the next two seasons of Two and a Half Men plus a $500,000 signing bonus, which puts most child and adult TV stars salaries to shame. To teen/kid TV stars, this makes Jones the ‘Charlie Sheen of the tween set’ since he has surpassed all other Disney and Nickelodeon stars combined in payday rates. His last payday featured $250,000 per episode, which was still a pretty decent margin over his teen counterparts. THR reports that the next highest paid child star behind Jones is Miranda Cosgrove for her iCarly role on Nickelodeon, with her current payday at $180,000 per episode, which is a huge difference from Jones current and past paycheck.Charlie Sheen is reportedly getting $2 million-per-episode which is a bump from his previous $800,000 salary for working on the CBS comedy. Sheen’s deal, according to TMZ, could draw in $98 million dollars when all the additions, bonuses, and possible bells and whistles. Are you sick yet?Sheen and Jones’ salaries brings back the salary disputes of yesteryear with the most recent one being the stars of Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, holding out on resigning their contracts until they got a raise in their already lucrative salaries. Hargitay is still the highest paid woman on primetime television drama with $395,000, the same salary Meloni receives. The women of Desperate Housewives (Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria-Parker, and Teri Hatcher) each reign as the highest paid women in primetime television comedy with $400,000 paydays. Hugh Laurie gets the same amount for his role on House. Now the highest paid person in television period? Oprah Winfrey. (As if you really had to guess…)So what do you guys think about Angus T. Jones’ pay rate? Is the kid insanely lucky? Or ridiculously overpaid?Sources: The Hollywood Reporter, TMZ, TV Guide Facebook Prev Article Next Article About The Author theanti-critic More from this Author TV, movies, and writing are my life and I will combine the trinity till the day I die.
