When some folks go all out they decide to go ALL OUT. This guy that made the DeLorean time machine had to use well over 65,000 LEGO bricks over roughly 290 hours to create this masterpiece, and honestly it looks awesome. With pop culture icons such as this it’s always nice when someone goes the extra mile and makes them look absolutely amazing. You kind of have to wonder though how many sets this guy had to buy to obtain all the of the same colored bricks for the various parts of the car. He even decided to put working lights and a smoke dispenser on it to make it look that much more impressive.
The DeLorean is something that a lot of us can look at and remember fondly how back in our youth we would watch this thing cruise up to speed and the disappear in a flash of light, followed by twin tire tracks of flame. For a lot of us the first time we saw this was absolutely awesome, while the second and third time were great as well. After that it was still awesome but the movies started getting a little ‘meh’. Plus, once Doc Brown created the new locomotive time machine and destroyed the DeLorean, the ride was over. It’s funny though how Doc told Marty to destroy the time machine only to build another one that he and his family used.
The model is a little different but it’s still pretty faithful to the original in many ways and doesn’t deviate too much. Thinking about the amount of work that went into this could make a person’s fingers hurt as contemplate placing every block in the right place. Also the patience this would have taken, does take, would be more than some people would be willing to cultivate or even give to anything this involved. Obviously though this guy thought it was more than worth his time and decided to go full bore and get it done, and get it done right.
You can see the working lights that he decided to install look great, and add to the overall effect. This guy might have watched the movies a few times or just had a good memory but whatever the case he did a great job. To spend this much time on the car that made movie history, and is being brought back in a way, means that the guy must be a dedicated fan. It’s either that or he thought this was a cool piece of pop culture and would do it to appease himself and others.
Even the headlights work on this thing, which is awesome since with a lot representations of pop culture you get a perfect look but not much else. This guy really swung for the fences and kind of nailed it out of the park on this one. I wonder if he does this for a hobby or he’s able to make a living off of this, because that would be too cool.
