Riihimaki was born in the city of St. Catharines, which can be found in the Canadian province of Ontario. Said city is the biggest of the cities that make up the Niagara Region with the result that it is one of the most important telecommunications backbones between Canada and the United States. Besides this, it is interesting to note that St. Catharines has an important place in the Black Canadian experience, seeing as how it was one of the final stops for African-American slaves fleeing from the slave states via the Underground Railroad. Some of those refugees fled further to other cities, but a fair number of them chose to settle in St. Catharines with the result that about 800 of its 6,000 residents were of African descent by the mid-1850s.

2. Japanese, Finnish, and Ukrainian Heritage

3. Her Sun Sign Is Leo

Zodiac-wise, Riihimaki’s sun sign is Leo. Generally speaking, Leo is believed to have been named for the Nemean Lion, which was one of the terrible monsters born from the union of Echidna and Typhon in Greek mythology. Said monster couldn’t be killed using normal weapons because its pelt was impervious to them, thus forcing the Greek hero Heracles to stun it, strangle it, and then skin it using its own claws. Curiously, there are some versions of the story in which the Nemean Lion was much more than just a simple-minded beast because it was capable of shapeshifting into an injured young woman for the purpose of luring in and eating would-be rescuers.

4. Went to Ryerson University

Education-wise, Riihimaki went to Ryerson University, which is one of the five universities that can be found in Toronto, ON. Eventually, this resulted in Riihimaki making a choice to share the steps to some of her DIY projects out of boredom.
