Take a good long look at this picture and see if you can find all 84 items. It’s a little tough if you don’t know your pop culture but if you do then you might find a whole slew of things that can spark your interest and get you excited about finding more and more throughout the picture that just seem to pop out at you and make themselves known. This is how many I managed to find after about a minute of looking, but there are SO many more.

Keep in mind that’s after a minute of looking, but it gets just a little confusing at first since if you’ve watched Gremlins you’ll know that it was released in 1984, which is a fun quirk about this picture because there are 84 total pop culture items that are waiting to be found, and a lot of them came well after Gremlins had already become a well-known part of pop culture.
The other fun fact about this picture however is that if you recall, the old man that was caring for Gizmo until his grandson decided to disobey him had a shop that was very jam-packed and didn’t have a whole lot of space for much else. It was crammed with oddities of all sorts that were both interesting and disturbing at once. It was a very dim place that didn’t inspire a lot of hope that the grandfather and grandson had been seeing good times as of late, but the grandfather was a little wiser than the grandson when it came to Gizmo.
If you remember, Peltzer was bringing Gizmo home as a Christmas gift to his son, which seems an ill-advised surprise since bringing a strange animal into one’s home without knowing enough about it is something that you might think only a fool would do. Well, Hollywood movies are chock-full of fools since otherwise we wouldn’t have much in the way of entertainment. The rest of course is history as the rules are broken and the gremlins that emerge as a result are in no way as calm or as docile as Gizmo.
For this little treasure hunt of pop culture it’s interesting to see just how many pieces there are to find and how many were jammed into the picture for the sake of having fun. Look really closely and you might be able to see some truly interesting things that you might not recognize at first but upon second glance will come to understand is something that you should have known all along.
