FX Orders Pilot Based on the Comic Book Series Y: The Last Man

FX is a TV channel that is really well known for its desire to create some unique programming. Most recently, there has been a lot of excitement over the creation of a pilot for the cable TV channel based on the comic book series Y: The Last Man. The comic book series itself, created by Brian K Vaughan, has gained a great deal of popularity with fans, so much so that there has been a lot of interest in developing it for television for quite some time.

In fact, this particular project has been in the works for about two years now. For a long time, it looked as if the show might not ever become a reality, but interest in it has been recently renewed, even to the point of nailing down a director for the pilot as well as naming showrunners for the series itself. For a long time, the project had been in development as a film and then for a while, it was basically an on-and-off again project that no one really knew what to do with or how to adapt. Now, it has been adapted as a TV show and people seem to be more excited than ever. Part of the reason for their excitement is because most individuals involved with the project believe that it will work much better as a television series as opposed to trying to cram everything into a single movie.

As far as the story itself goes, it’s a post-apocalyptic love story. It centers around a man named Yorick Brown and his pet monkey called Ampersand. A plague has occurred and has all but wiped out everything and everybody on Earth. At the time that it happened, Brown was in the process of proposing to his girlfriend over the telephone. He has no idea exactly what happened to her or even if she is still alive. The comic book series chronicles his adventures as he travels from one location to the next in an attempt to find her. As such, the TV show promises to have plenty of adventure and maybe even a little romance along the way.

So far, FX has decided to name two showrunners. They are Michael Green and Aida Mashaka Croal. Between the two of them, they have been involved in projects such as Logan, Turn, American Gods, and Blade Runner 2049. As you can see, they have both the experience and the talent to create unique programming. Since they have been responsible for some of the more interesting project as of late, it only stands to reason that they would be able to take a concept such as this and run with it.

An exact air date for the show has not yet been set, as it is still largely in the creative process. However, the project has come further this time around than it ever has in the past, and many fans of the comic book series are holding out hope that nothing will go wrong this time. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before they can sit down and watch a version of their favorite comic book series on television. The unique thing about this particular project is that it seems to hold a lot of promise, as even those individuals that aren’t traditionally fans of comic books in general seem interested.
