Days of Our Lives fans pay a lot of attention to things like the story lines, the drama, and the characters. They also sometimes want to know more about the people who play the characters, but they do mostly want to know about the characters themselves. The reason is simple. So many things happen around Salem that go back so far that you might not remember back in the days when things first began. This is a show that’s been on the air more than five decades, which might be older than you. And that means there might be stories you simply don’t know about the characters and their checkered pasts. And that’s why we’re going to delve a little bit deeper into the past of Victor Kiriakis. Did you know these things about the character?
1. He Showed Up in the 80s
This man is like all of Salem wrapped into one person, but he was not always around. In fact, he’s not even been here a full forty years yet. He showed up in 1985. And that is big considering he is basically the man who owns Salem. People fear him. He is the most powerful man in town in many ways, and that’s something that makes him seem like a lifelong person who lived here and worked here. But he really only showed up as a friend of the Brady family. Then it turned out that he was actually the father of Bo Brady, and that was a mess by itself. And he was a bad man who was all about doing the wrong things for the wrong reasons. But, he worked that out for himself and showed up in a big way.
2. His Past is Checkered
He might be the man behind Titan, but he wasn’t always an above the ground kind of man. To be very honest, he’s not even that honest these days. He’s a man who will do anything and everything it takes to get his life in order and to make it work for himself, but he’s also the kind of man who will go out of his own way to get what he wants in other ways, too. He’s a former drug lord, and that’s shocking to many people. Even his own kids didn’t know that their father was a drug master for a very long time, but that’s because he sold that portion of his business to the ruthless EJ DiMera for a big price. And then he founded his own company and made that work. He’s still into all the illegal stuff he can manage, but it’s a little bit less illegal and gross than some of what he was involved in a long time ago. But it’s hard not to remember.
3. He’s Been Married A Few Times
It’s so easy to forget that Victor and Maggie have not been married their entire lives. They are so very much in love with one another, and he will do anything for her. He cares for her more than anyone, and it’s unbelievable to us that they have only been married since 2011. He was married to many women before he decided to go with the one he loved the most. He was married to Carly Manning, to Kate Roberts, to Vivian Alamain, to Nicole, and then to Maggie. And he’s got kids with women he was never married to. Our least favorite wife of his was Nicole — it worked the least.
4. Victor Hates Nicole
No matter how much his grandson, Brady, loves her and how much he wanted to be with her, there was nothing about Nicole that Victor was fond of. In fact, he wanted his grandson to be with anyone who wasn’t Nicole to the point that he would do anything to get back at her. You see, she had him killed by hiring someone to electrocute him in the tub, and it did not work. She was horrified when he was back a few years after she thought she had him killed, and that was the moment he made it his mission in life to do anything and everything he could to make sure she suffered. She died in 2018, and we wonder what will happen in the future about his involvement in that.
