Five Things You Didn’t Know about Star Wars Character Dryden Vos

Behind every great person or object, there is an interesting story about that person. It’s with that in mind that we decided to find more about Dryden Vos, who is a lead villain in the movie “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” Read on to find out Five Things You Didn’t Know about Dryden Vos.

Michael K. Williams was set to play Dryden Vos’ role

In the beginning when the movie was a motion-capture creation, the role of Dryden Vos was to be played by Michael K. Williams. However, things changed when a new director was asked to take charge, and he ended up choosing Paul Bettany to take that role. It would have been interesting to see it would have been like for Williams to take that role. Still, Bettany is a great actor and we expect the best from him as well.

New Director

The director responsible for choosing Paul Bettany to act the role of Dryden Vos is Ron Howard. He took the place of Chris Miller and Phil Lord who were the directors of “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” Empire Online’s release of a still featuring Dryden Vos, shows the character’s appearance as being fairly imposing.

Armor in Background

Dryden Vos was capture in the still with a special armor larking in the background. Some fans believe that it belongs to a Mandalorian who takes instructions from Vos. Still, others believe it is a suit, and he will don in the Solo: A Star Wars Story’s final moments. What is striking about it is that it bears great resemblance to a suit worn by Boba Fret, a character that is said to have appeared in multiple times in Solo.

Big-Shot Gangster

Dryden Vos is thought to have hired Beckett and his guys to do a “job” for him. He is chosen as the main villain because of his heavily scarred face that matches the long black cloak. That appearance is perfect image that you would expect of a typical villain who has lived a hard life to posses. The image will come in handy when he goes out to take revenge on whoever crosses him, or even to challenge whoever is after him.

Jedi Master Quinlan Vos

Although Dryden Vos shares his last name with Quinlan Vos, they actually do not have any connection. You should not therefore try to make any connections between the two.

From the still release in which he appears to point a finger authoritatively at someone, it could appear that there is going to be someone who will try to challenge his authority, possibly from his inner circle. It will be interesting to see how he is going to handle such as insurrection, and whether it could lead to possible fallout. We also expect there could other villains that may measure up to Dryden Vos, although he is the only one that the film’s director has portrayed as the main villain so far. Overall, we expect a lot of action from Dryden Vos and mystery to develop around him.
