Five Things You Didn’t Know about Merritt Wever

Merrit Wever is kind of like a best-kept secret to those that haven’t seen a lot of her or don’t realize they have. Unless she’s the star you don’t tend to notice her as much it would seem but she is still a very skilled actress and has done quite a bit with her career over the years. If you do follow her then you likely already know what she’s about and what she can do. But many people would very likely have to actively peruse her works and see just whether or not they could recognize her from other shows and movies. She’s a very talented person, though at times she’s not exactly the main part of a story, meaning that her name wouldn’t be front and center.

Still, she contributes a lot to whatever she stars in.

5. She was conceived via a sperm donor.

It’s not much of a dirty secret really but this isn’t something that a lot of people would go out and start telling people. The fact that it’s in her bio is enough to think that she doesn’t care that much if people know or not. It’s not anyone’s business to know such things but if Wever decides to air it out and let people know then she’s all the better for it. She’s got nothing to hide.

4. She starred on The Walking Dead.

In the comic it was Abraham that was supposed to get shot in the back of the head, but on the show it was Denise. Her death sparked a huge outrage on social media and was widely thought to be a stab at the LGBTQ community since her character was a confirmed lesbian. The outrage was as far as it got however since people had to finally concede the fact that a TV show killing off characters is not anything new.

3. She’s been around longer than many people realize.

Wever has been acting since 1995. That’s a good long while thus far for someone born in 1980. Her filmography is quite impressive for anyone, not just someone her own age. In fact it’s safe to say that she might have been around the acting scene longer than a handful of those she’s worked with throughout the years. She’s a veteran that just doesn’t give off the air of someone that’s been there, seen that.

2. She attended socialist summer camps as a kid.

To each their own on this one but anything with the title of socialism becomes a hot button issue for many people since it doesn’t denote much of anything good. Having to give up one’s material gain to spread around a society is not entirely conducive to everyone’s thinking, but having to learn about is as a child seems almost like brainwashing. Of course, when you’re a kid a lot of things seem like that.

1. She studied acting in New York.

Wever has been around for a while like I said and has been on Broadway for a good long while too. Her acting career has taken some twists and turns but she’s always managed to think of something.  To date she’s been a part of many different productions and thankfully shows no signs of slowing down.

She’s a true talent that doesn’t seem to get that much recognition.
