Donald Trump’s Face Artificially Generated onto Alec Baldwin Playing Trump on SNL

It’s as though the person that put this clip together wanted to go all in on the realism factor when they artificially generated Donald Trump’s face over Alec Baldwin’s for SNL. It wasn’t good enough that Baldwin was acting like the guy, they needed to see the face too in order to make it all come together. Thankfully one’s just a comedy and the other is, well, a rather non-funny comedy that Democrats continually have a good laugh at to lessen the sting. But in all the renditions of people playacting as Trump, Alec Baldwin no doubt earns the gold medal for the most spot on performance.

Since he declared he was running for office Trump’s name has been on the comedic chopping block and people have been swinging away. While some of the populace certainly don’t mind and would love to take a whack at it as much as the next person it does grow tiresome at times. No one’s saying stop since the current POTUS has made a few questionable decisions during his time in office thus far, but there are moments when things get a little out of hand (cough, cough, Kathy Griffin, cough). What you do to mock those you don’t care for often says more about you than them and it’s been seen to happen quite often since Trump took office. The satirical representation by Alec Baldwin is just that, satire. It’s not meant to be damaging to Trump’s reputation or to his name, but it does have the effect of making people laugh in a manner that isn’t bound to get them into trouble.

Of course that’s all a matter of opinion and many of those that are avid Trump supporters don’t care for such representations at all, but loved when Obama was being mocked. This is one of those cases that if you can mock your opponent you shouldn’t be surprised when they turn around and mock you in turn. Basically if you can’t take it, then don’t dish it out. Political figures have been some of the biggest targets for satire throughout history since they are the most commonly seen figures in the world and are expected to be better than those they are supposed to be serving. Many of them are elected after all, which they seem to forget about until it’s time to elect them again.

The one thing that a person has to understand when they go into politics is that like a celebrity their every move and every word is going to be scrutinized. They will be under the magnifying lens at every possible moment so that people can monitor just what it is that they’re doing, saying, and possibly thinking. The people that elect these individuals want to know that they’re doing the job that they were elected to do, and if that’s not the case then every last elected official throughout the country should understand that as they were elected, they can also be voted out of office as well.
