Welcome to the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 premiere! In this week’s episode, called My Big Fat Greek Yacht Emergency, Captain Sandy Yawn and her new crew are up against a chaotic start. From missing provisions to unresolved cabin leaks, the Mustique has its work cut out before the charter guests arrive.
A Challenging Start for the Crew
Once the crew settles in, they’re immediately hit with a major problem – no wine, prosecco, or champagne. Chief stew Aesha Scott is quick to notice and promptly contacts the provisioner, only to hear that the drinks will arrive just minutes before the charter guests.
Aesha remains optimistic but keeps her team informed, explaining why they might run into some initial hiccups fulfilling guest requests. The first charter guests are due in less than 24 hours, and the boat’s a mess,
she admits.
Sandy Steps Up
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Aesha turns to Captain Sandy for assistance. Sandy quickly gets on the phone with the provisioner to speed up deliveries. This is unacceptable,
she texts when further delays are proposed.
Dinner Drama
Meanwhile, Chef Jono faces his challenges as provisions delay his cooking schedule. He improvises with crab instead of lobster and receives praise from delighted guests, even amidst supply issues.
The chaos underlines Captain Sandy’s approach: Teamwork makes the dream work.
Bri’s Challenges
New stew Bri Muller struggles with ironing tasks initially but receives support from fellow crew members. Despite setbacks, her determination doesn’t go unnoticed by chief stew Aesha.
A Sneak Peek into Personal Life
Amidst all this, Captain Sandy recently tied the knot with longtime partner Leah Shafer. The wedding took place onboard a superyacht in an intimate ceremony filled with loved ones. As Leah fondly recalls, Everything was special…our vow exchange was the moment that I will never let go of.
A Short Honeymoon
The newlyweds enjoyed a brief honeymoon on a luxurious Sunseeker boat loaned by Sandy’s boss. Reflecting on this time, Sandy shared,My boss, John Flynn, gave us his boat…it’s a brand new Sunseeker 90-footer with a crew – and we went to Little Palm Island.
The Mustique Sets Sail
It’s not all smooth sailing as drama unfolds both above and below decks. With provisions running late and crew tensions mounting, it’s clear that Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 is off to an intense start.
