As you very well know by now, fidget spinners are all the rage. The phenomenon originally began as a helpful tool for autistic children. The Fidget Spinner is a small item that has a stable middle, along with two or more discs that spin like a ceiling fan’s paddles when the center is pressed. Spinners that are really good, may continue to spin for several minutes. It feels good to the hand, satisfying, to be able to do this, for those who suffer with fidgety hands. It keeps your hand busy to help your release your nervous energy.
Most fidget spinners are considered toys and run a few bucks, maybe $10-$20 but with crazy fads like this one, you can get into some pretty expensive fidget spinners out there that’ll run you up to $600. Up until today there was no real reason to report on this worldwide craze but when you hear about a guy making a Batman Fidget spinner you have to report. The video below is sick and here’s the description.
In this video I’m making a Batman Fidget Spinner from empty bullet shells which I bought from a local shooting range in Antwerp (Belgium). The holes for the bearings were drilled a tiny bit smaller then the bearings themself, so in order to make them fit i had to put them in liquid nitrogen to shrink them. Once they warmed up again they locked themself in to place. For this spinner I used other/better bearings to make sure the spinner will spin a lot longer then our previous Fidget Spinner. The Spinner is also bigger then a normal spinner, but it’s not meant to be spinned in 1 hand. It’s more meant as a collectors item. It weighs 1.3kg or 2.9lbs. This time i used liquid nitrogen to cool the logo…. Why? Just because you guys asked! :) I spend 4 entire days to complete this project.
