Recently, Austin Butler shared an amusing revelation from his early audition days. During a video for BuzzFeed Celeb, the Elvis star candidly opened up about trying out for a major role in the 2012 movie The Hunger Games.
A Role That Slipped Away
Despite his best efforts, Butler didn’t get the part of Peeta Mellark. In his words, I didn’t even think I got a callback
. The role eventually went to Josh Hutcherson, who starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne.
