For more than 30 years, The Bold and the Beautiful fans have watched their favorite characters come to life on the big screen. These are characters who have made big changes, big differences, and big changes in the world of daytime television. There are still two original cast members on the show who were here on day one, and we cannot help but love that there is so much love around here. It might be the baby of the soap bunch, but we appreciate what they are trying to do around here. We appreciate that this is not a show that is just like the others. It’s shorter, it’s about love and relationships more than it is about revenge and money and killing people and bringing them back to life. It’s more relatable because these things are more likely to happen than some of the other things on other soaps, but there are still things going on behind the scenes fans want to know more about. And, we have that information for you right now.
Kids Make Appearances
We all know that Katie Logan’s on-screen son has been played by her real life son more than a few times. When Heather Tom gave birth to her son, she allowed him to come onto the show with her and play her son since he was there with her, anyway. But, she’s not the only one. We’ve talked about it before, but she’s not the only character who gets to use her own kids in real life. For example, Brooke is the mother of five on the show, but she’s the mother of two in real life. She’s been on the show since day one, and she’s had her two real-life sons show up more than a few times on the show as roles that needed someone to fill them. Her one son, played the role of Eric Forrester Jr. on the show for a while. Her other son played Baby Bridget as a backup for a few years. Now that is interesting stuff, right?
No Real Kissing
Did you know that the actors and actresses on this show do their very best to make it look as if they are kissing even when they are really not doing it? They try that as often as possible, and it works for them. They don’t like to kiss their coworkers when they don’t have to, so some scenes allow them to fake it until they make it and not really do it. They can make it look good for the camera, but they can do it without actually touching one another, without actually making it like work. They like that, because they like to kiss their real-life spouses more than they like to kiss the people they work with every single day. Basically, the show doesn’t have nearly the kind of romance and passion on the actual set as they make it appear on the screen. We love that, and it makes us feel good to know that they are such good friends that they can fake it as often as possible.
Two Episodes A Day
There is one thing that many people don’t realize, and that is the fact that the workdays around here are well over 10 hours per day. The cast and crew have a lot of work to make it happen, and they are good at it. They are so good, in fact, that they are able to film two episodes per day. That means working 10 to 12 hours, memorizing dozens of pages of script, and working hard to ensure they are able to get it done. They are demanded to learn so many things, and it’s not always easy. Most of the cast have a lot of experience, and they have their own ways of doing things and making things happen so that it works for them, but some are given a chance to learn more quickly than others. We imagine it might be a little intimidating to learn all that they learn, do all that they do, and focus like they do on a regular basis. We get it.
