The Top Uses of Shawn Mendes Songs in Movies or TV

Shawn Mendes is still kind of a newcomer to the industry but he’s shown up in a big way with several songs that have left people breathless while cheering for him. It’s easy to say that he’s been most popular with the younger crowd since he’s not that old and he’s definitely focused on subjects that many young people tend to think about. This however is a big part of his allure since he’s become one of the hottest young stars to hit the scene in the last several years and is playing upon that popularity for all its worth, as he should be. Whether he’ll manage to stick out the next several years and create a decade worth of success is hard to say since the music business is just as fickle as the movie industry in many regards. But so far he’s been on a roll and it doesn’t appear that he’s going to stop, much to the delight of his fans.

Here are just a few instances in which his music has been seen to light up the scene.

5. The Ellen Degeneres Show – Life of the Party

You had to know that talk show hosts and the like were going to lock onto him almost immediately when he became the next big thing as it’s just smart business and is a way to promote a new star and show that such programs are still up and on the cutting edge when it comes to the kind of talent they’re willing to bring to the attention of their viewers. He’s obviously not shy about getting up on stage which is a good thing since this isn’t his first appearance or even his second when it comes to singing in public. Of course if you’re going for a career in music you kind of have to get over that stage fright pretty quickly.

4. Descendants – Believe

One thing about his music is that it’s not just young and vibrant but it’s also geared towards a younger crowd that can fully enjoy it and understand most if not all of what he’s saying when it comes to the subject. He definitely plays to that crowd since his energy is upbeat and moves forward with the kind of rhythm that pretty much anyone can follow but really tends to appeal to kids and adolescents that have found him to be one of the more appealing artists of the decade. You could say that he knows how to cater to each crowd and you’d be correct since not all of his songs are the same but they all carry that same unique drive behind them that’s all Shawn.

3. Rock Story – Mercy

He can get a little big edgy and even melancholy with his songs which is kind of nice to tell the truth since being upbeat is great but it does pay to have at least some hardness to the music just to make it easier to relate to the singer. While it seems like Shawn is, a lot of the time, looking to enjoy and cater to his fans he at least seems to follow his own whims as well and tries to tell the story in the way it needs to be told rather than in the way people might want to hear it all the time. That’s the big difference between someone that will tell a story honestly, they don’t always do so in the manner that people expect.

2. Saturday Night Live – Treat You Better

Getting to walk onto the set of SNL is big enough, but getting to perform live on the stage is something that a lot of stars have had the honor to do, but only about half of them have ever done well at. Shawn has been increasing in popularity since he came on the scene in 2013 and his star is shining just as brightly now as it did then. While the roar of his fame might have died down just a bit that’s pretty natural since now he’s got to make sure that he can sustain the popularity that he developed early on, and it doesn’t sound like that’s going to be much of a problem since his music and his presence are still highly desired.

Just to think that you weren’t much of anything until several years back and once you’ve become something great, someone that people look up to, should be the kind of boost that any career could use. People have been singing his songs now for a while and it’s easy to see that enough fans enjoy the sound of his voice that they’re willing to show that they too can utilize his words to get somewhere in life.

He’s still got a very bright future it seems and it will be interesting to see how it develops.
