General Hospital fans love them some Dante, but it’s sad news to see that Dominic Zamprogna is leaving the show. The infamous Dante is out, but we don’t know for how long, for good, or if the series will find another actor to take over the role for Zamprogna. We just don’t know, but we do know that we’ve all taken quite the liking to him over the past almost-decade. He showed up in 2009, and we’ve been loving him ever since. We will miss him in this role, but that doesn’t meant there’s not still things we simply don’t know about the famed actor.
1. He’s a Twin
Did you know that he is a twin? Zamprogna is just that. He has a twin sister by the name of Amanda. They are fraternal twins, but they are very close. He also has another sister by the name of Gema. They are both actresses.
2. He’s Canadian
Zamprogna is Canadian. He was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. He lived there most of his life, and his parents ran their own business out of the city. They owned a dance studio, and his mother was the dancer in the family.
3. He Was an Athlete Growing Up
As a child, he was heavily into sports. He played soccer and basketball. At one point in his life, his goal was to grow up and become an athlete. That didn’t work out for him, but he did want to spend time in that role growing up.

4. He Began Acting as A Child
He didn’t have any dreams of becoming an actor for a long time, but he did take part in small roles here and there. He was once a part of the cast of “Are you afraid of the dark,” which was a children’s program many 80s and 90s kids grew up on.
5. He Left College Early
He was a student at the University of Toronto, but he chose to leave early. He wanted nothing to do with the fact that he was part of this situation, and he said he was simply no good at school work. One of the things he did growing up was try at school, but he never felt he excelled at any particular program.
6. He’s a Married Man
He married his wife, Linda Leslie, in 2009. They were together for many years prior to that, but they waited to get married. He was always busy working, and they never seemed as if they were in a hurry to wed at that point. They’ve been married ever since.
7. He Has Three Kids
Despite only being married for 9 years at this point, he’s got three kids. He and his wife welcomed their first child 11 months after their wedding in 2010. Their second child came only two years later, and their third was born 3 years later in 2015. His kids are all girls.
8. He’s A Big Canadian Star
Canada is known for its popular series, and the series “Edgemont” was one of those popular shows. He was the star in the show, and he managed to have a part in every single episode the show filmed over the course of its 5-year run. He was very well-known.
9. He’s An Emmy Nominee
His role as Dante has earned him an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor. That was 5 years into his role back in 2014. He didn’t win, but he did enjoy being recognized as someone who was so good at what he did for a living.
10. He’s Still Young
It’s easy to imagine him being a bit older when we see him as Dante given all Dante has been through. However, he’s still quite the young man. He was born in 1979, and he only just celebrated his 39th birthday in April of 2018. He’s a man who clearly ages well, and we’d love to know what is next for him now that he’s no longer going to be part of the show. Of course, we don’t bother saying we will never see him there again; some stars have a way of always coming back when they’ve been written out of the show.
