Television Stars Who Have Completed Full Marathons

Spring is finally here! And the nicer weather means that we can start our training regime outside once again. The warmth of spring also indicates that running season is upon us. Many runners have been able to put on their new kicks they got during Christmas and test them out on the pavement. Runners will set goals for themselves during the year, one of which may be to complete a full marathon. Here is a list of a few TV stars who have completed a marathon.

Teri Hatcher, Desperate Housewives

Teri Hatcher is no stranger to the world of television having appeared on Lois & Clark for four seasons and Desperate Housewives for eight years. Hatcher is also quite an athlete. She participated in the New York City Marathon in 2014. She was able to complete the race in 5:06:42.

Valerie Bertinelli, Hot in Cleveland

Turning 50 is quite the milestone. Valerie Cleveland decided to run in the Boston Marathon four days before her birthday. She was also running for a good cause: The Dana Farber Cancer Institute. She finished the race in 5:14:37. Bertinelli has also appeared on TV series One Day at a Time and Touched by an Angel.

Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad

Before we knew Bryan Cranston from such popular series as Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad, he was a marathon runner. He completed the New York City marathon in 1985. He had watched the race the year prior and was inspired by all the people participating in the trek. He finished with an excellent time of 3:20:45.

Mario Lopez, Saved by the Bell

TV fans are well of aware of Mario Lopez’ athleticism even back in his Saved by the Bell days. The actor and Extra co-host finally decided to compete in the New York City marathon in 2011. Eating healthy and having a strict workout regime helped this star finish the run in 4:23:29.

Pamela Anderson, Baywatch

It may be over a decade since we have watched Pamela Anderson headline a TV series, but that doesn’t mean the buxom bombshell still doesn’t stay in shape. She ran the New York City Marathon in 2013 for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which was founded by Sean Penn. She completed the race in 5:41:03.

Uzo Aduba, Orange is the New Black

When not starring as Crazy Eyes in the Netflix series Orange is the New Black, Uzo Aduba is out running marathons. The award winning actress ran the New York City Marathon in 2013 with an ending time of 5:01. Two years later, Aduba would complete the Boston Marathon in 5:03.

Andrea Barber, Fuller House

Andrea Barber is no stranger to the world of marathon running. Her very first race she ever signed up for was the Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disney Land. Since then, the Fuller House actress has competed in four full marathons. Her finishing time at the Los Angeles Marathon in 2016 was 4:58:02.
