Watch Verne Troyer Burn Rubber In A Miniature Tesla

I wasn’t aware Verne Troyer was still that popular but maybe it has something to do with him ‘burning rubber’ in a Tesla. Granted the Tesla is a toy that’s used for kids but he’s still flying around in the thing easily enough, going at a full clip at 6 mph. Is it odd that I didn’t really focus on anything other than the fact that he said he’s 48? I honestly didn’t know how old the guy was since it never seems to come up in mainstream media. I don’t mean to be disrespectful but his popularity kind of went out when the Austin Powers movies were over and done with.

Back then he was cool as could be, he was the new kid on the block in the second film and by the third film he’d become an icon of sorts. Mini-Me was one of the most popular characters on the show simply for the novelty of who and what he was. A miniature clone of Dr. Evil that was strong as hell and mean as an angry little badger. Plus he was the kind of character that could be intelligent or just downright nutty at any given second.

But after Goldmember the buzz around Troyer was kind of fading quickly. I do recall him being on one reality show or another. That however was because there was a whole segment on how he got drunk, woke up in the middle of the night, and was peeing on the floor in what looked like a rec room. After that I kind of stopped watching because the novelty had pretty well worn off. But apparently people still find Verne Troyer kind of appealing as this video would suggest. I don’t really want to laugh because it seems mean but the box the Tesla came in is bigger than he is by far, and there’s no doubt why he can’t push it to the garage all by himself.

Even opening the box seems to be an effort for him since a pocket knife looks like a dagger in his small hands and it looks like he could crawl in the box and still have room. I do have to wonder if the inside of his house is all decked out with fixtures that are more suited to his size or if he makes due with a series of step stools and other devices that help him get around. It’s not being mean, it’s just being curious to know since his size is very much an impediment if his house was built to accommodate a bigger man.

It would be cool to be able to fit in a Tesla like this however and go zooming down the sidewalk. The lights work, it has as an AUX connection, and a place to put your iPod, so you can cruise in style and listen to your tunes. I don’t think I’d take it on the road to see if it’s street legal however, since the first passing car might forget to look down.
