Five Reasons You Need to Watch Netflix Series “Mindhunter”

There’s no doubt that Netflix is now the go-to place for the best shows in the industry. Not only do they have some of our favorite older shows, but the company is constantly coming out with hits after hits with some of the best shows we just love to binge on. Some of the Netflix shows that have wowed us in the recent years include Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Stranger Things, and Narcos. They’ve done it again with the new show Mindhunter, and the best part of it all is that all the episodes are available for viewing right away. If you aren’t already binging on it, here are five reasons why you need to watch Netflix’s latest masterpiece, Mindhunter.

1. David Fincher

You’re a David Fincher fan even if you don’t know it yet. You might be familiar with some of his work: Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac, and yes, Gone Girl. David Fincher has been credited as producer in the series alongside actress Charlize Theron. The fact is, the two introduced the project to HBO back in 2009, and why the network didn’t see the project to life is lost to us. Thankfully, Netflix is smart enough to do so, and we get to see Fincher’s work into action again.

2. It’s Not the Usual Police Work

The plot dates back to 1979. This is the time when the methodology for solving crimes just started using psychology as a means to find answers. The show is more brains than brawl, but there’s enough muscle in there to give the show some texture. It’s unnerving work to have to get into the psyche of serial killers, and that’s what the young FBI agents in the series do day in and day out. It’s enough crazy talk to keep us bothered for days and wanting for more. It’s the stuff we really don’t understand, and the show does an impressive job of somehow making sense out of the way murderous minds think and behave.

3. It’s All Too Real

Possibly the best part of the series is the fact that it’s all based on true accounts. The series is based on the book of the same title written by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The book was written to detail what it’s like inside an FBI department that deals with serial crime. The book outlines stories that really happened, and the show does the same.

4. The Cast is Impressive

We can talk about Jonathan Groff all day, but it wouldn’t be fair to the rest of the crew that draws just as much attention as the “Frozen” star. It’s completely mind-boggling to see Groff in such a role on screen, but we know he’s tackled hard characters on theater before. The former Glee star not only can sing, dance, and act, he can make us believe in the heavy truth of what he’s portraying. It’s in addition to the fact that he’s working with some other great talents. Groff plays opposite Bill Tench, who plays the role of Holt McCallany, a polar opposite to Groff’s character Holden Ford. These two are impressive on screen, but when they’re together, they’re downright electric.

5. There’s Already More to Come

If you still aren’t convinced, just know that the show has already been renewed for a second season. Mindhunter was just released on October 13, and it’s so good that Netflix already greenlighted the project for another season. You can postpone watching the show all you want; at least when the time comes you finally do, you’ll probably have the second season waiting at hand. But we really suggest you delve into that world now. You’ll have many questions to contend with as you do, and you’ll take an entire year and probably a few binge watching to figure out a thing or two.
