Game of Thrones Fan Theory Tells Us About Night King’s Endgame

The Night King’s endgame apparently isn’t the destruction of everything and everyone as many might think, according to one fan. You know however that one theory doled out will only strengthen the chance that another theory will be driven forth and then another and another after that. But keep in mind that most fan theories are taken from the show itself, meaning they tend to fall in the realms of reliability even if they never come to fruition. We know very well at this point that a lot of fan theories have not yet come around and have been shot down like ravens on the wing.

But with season seven now in the books and the eight and final season a long ways off the fan theories will come as thick as the White Walkers army until they finally get to see what has become of Westeros in season eight. Now we all know that the Night King isn’t one to hesitate when it comes to destroying whatever’s in his way. The Wall is a good indication of that, as is the undead Viserion that the Night King now rides upon.

But what if he’s not after the utter ruination of Westeros? What if he doesn’t wish to rule over an army of the dead? Try to keep in mind that for much of the show the Riverlands have continually been put into the mix when there seems to be no other reason save for some tactical advantage and a grab at more land and resources. After that you’d think that the Riverlands would be largely left alone. But the Riverlands are also home to the children of the forest, the same magical beings that are responsible for the creation of the Night King.

The theory goes that since the children made him, their power can undo the thing he’s become and restore him back to true life. In theory it could also do the same for his followers. He would no longer be an undead creature, nor would his minions be dead men and women shambling along at his behest. They would be living beings that could fully enjoy the spoils of war that they sought.

There is one problem though.

The theory doesn’t seem to take into account the fact that a lot of the wights are little more than walking skeletons with a few hunks of meat left on their bones. Should the power actually work then a good portion of the Night King’s army could possibly just clatter to the ground when imbued with life. Because let’s face it, if you’re alive and have only a few chunks of muscle or organs left to your body you won’t be around for too long. Plus there’s nothing to say that the power would regenerate whatever was lost, so even those that are largely intact but have horrific wounds would be subject to dropping dead where they stood.

It’s not the worst theory in the world, but it does have a couple of very big holes. Keep thinking though people, this is good.
