The show turned out to be one of the hottest dramas of the summer. The show is about a crime that happened in Southern California. Ellen Barkin leads the cast as the mother of the Cody family. Her eldest son is played by Shawn Hatosy and he’s a bit on the volatile side and slightly mental. They’re also joined by Scott Speedman, the second in line alongside Ben Robson, Finn Cole, Carolina Guerra, Jake Weary and Molly Gordon.
Here are five of the top moments so far from season two.
1. The Church heist
In episode five of season two the boys go through with their plans to rob the church. The problem was that things didn’t go according to plan. They had their share of setbacks. The title of the episode is appropriately titled “Forgive Us Our Trespasses.” Deran did his part to prepare for the heist by stealing a car out of the parking lot at an airport. This was his part for the heist. Baz prepares a gadget for measuring decibels of sound that the drill would make as they attempt to infiltrate the church’s safe room. The boys made their move at the perfect time. It was just as the pastor announced the dollar amount of the fundraiser they had been working on.
2. Smurf is kidnapped
Deran’s room had been given to J, and they are working to get Deran’s stuff moved out so J could get moved in. While Smurf is assisting by relocating Deran’s boxes to the storage unit, she is kidnapped by Javi’s men. Alex Meraz plays Javi, who seeks a truthful answer about a job the killed his father in the past. He’s holding her hostage and also threatening to give the cops tapes that could get the Cody’s in some serious trouble if they don’t give him three hundred thousand dollars.
3. The Cody’s haven’t exactly abandoned their old ways.
In fact, they’ve ramped them up a bit. When the heist doesn’t go off as planned, The family experiences a severe episode of dysfunction and they emerge for the worse, as some are ready to leave Smurf and go out on their own. The boys believe that she is to blame for the things that have gone wrong and chaos ensues.
4. Baz deals with his role as father
This is a tough time for Baz. Ever since Catherine has vanished, he has been trying to adjust to being a single parent. He takes a trip to Mexico to see Lucy. He gets fairly clingy towards her but Lucy isn’t really interested in making a commitment to him. In the next episode we see her giving him a kiss so is she leading him on or is there a chance that the two of them will get together. Will she change her mind?
5. Javi turns it up
Javi ups the stakes and turns the pressure up on Smurf. She quickly brings J on board to help her. This is all going on while Baz has an issue with Pope because of the performance on the Mega Church job.
