The Time David Bowie and Iggy Pop Appeared on Daytime TV in 1977

While David Bowie and Iggy Pop spent their fare share of time on late night talk shows, daytime TV didn’t exactly fit their rock and roll star lifestyles or cultures.  However, there was one instance back in 1977 when these two legends got together on the same show.  It was Dinah Shore who had the courage to take on these two in an interview and believe me, they did not disappoint.  Did anyone else out there know this interview existed?  I most certainly did not.

Here’s a brief synopsis

April 15, 1977: Iggy Pop and David Bowie were guests on Dinah’s Place. Promoting Lust for Life, Iggy and David, along with Tony Sales on bass and Hunt Sales on drums, performed “Sister Midnight” and “Fun Time.” During the interview segment, Bowie was shown in tears from trying to stifle his laughter when Dinah Shore asked Iggy what it felt like to crawl around on broken glass.
