If you weren’t a fan of Misha Collins before then you’ll most certainly be a fan now. And if you were already a fan of Misha Collins then this has to make you like him even more. The Supernatural star, like many of us, wasn’t exactly happy with the Congress ruling on Internet privacy. The gist of it is that now all of our browsing history and search patterns are available for sale by our service providers. So basically in a nutshell Verizon can now make all your information available to the highest bidder.
Misha Collins, best known for playing angel Castiel in the CW’s “Supernatural,” is hell-bent on showing Washington lawmakers what it’s like to have your private information bought and sold without your consent.
“Congress recently voted to strip Americans of their privacy rights by voting for SJR34, a resolution that allows Internet Service Providers to collect, and sell your sensitive data without your consent or knowledge,” Collins wrote in his new GoFundMe campaign which has already wracked up an impressive $71,000 in just 24 hours. “Since Congress has made our privacy a commodity, let’s band together to buy THEIR privacy.”
The page has a goal of $500 million which is pretty ambitious. However if anyone can do it, it’s a guy with Supernatural ability. We’ll keep you posted on this.
