Northwestern took a tough loss last night in Salt Lake City when they were defeated by Gonzaga 79-73. It was a hard fought game but Gonzaga, the superior team, prevailed. However, the most legendary moment of the game, and perhaps the entire tournament, came with 7:36 left in the game with Northwestern trailing 63-52. The world was introduced to this Northwestern fan and if he’s not now, we need to get him to be the viral fan of the NCAA Tournament. Just watch this clip below:

“Oh my God! He fell over! This is so bad!” You gotta love the emotion that the tourney brings. Poor kid is just cheering on his team and reacted to what he thought wasn’t the greatest call. But when this kid looks back on this video he’ll always be known as the “Northwestern braces kid.” Look, every single NCAA Tournament has a “most memorable fan moment” and I’m pretty sure this is the first big one and could be the fan moment of the tournament.
I just want to make sure that everyone’s seen this. And what’s up with this kid’s braces anyway? Hasn’t orthodontics made great strides in braces? Don’t they make invisible braces these days? This is about an old school a braces set up as you’ll ever see. Classic metallic format with rubber bands? When’s the last time you saw a kid with braces that had rubber bands? I mean I had rubber bands but that was in 1992.
Anyway, this has got to be the viral fan moment of the tournament so far. Pass it on.
