Myles Garrett Proves That Human Evolution is Only Just Beginning

Remember a guy by the name of Jevon Kearse?  He was nicknamed “The Freak” and for good reason.  Jevon was 6’4, 265 lbs and ran the 40 in 4.58 seconds.   It’s almost unfair how ridiculous those numbers are.   But ever since Jevon, more and more “freaks” have been popping up all over the place.  These are guys that have absolutely no business doing the athletic things that they do at the sizes that they are.   However, here they are turning heads at the NFL combine.   One name that’s risen above the rest is Myles Garrett.

Over the weekend the 272 pound defensive lineman from Texas A&M crushed the 40-yard dash by running a 4.64.  But that’s not all.  He also had an insane 41″ vertical leap which led the collective NFL Twitter world to go completely bonkers. As Rich Eisen pointed out, this vertical leap number is the same as 2016 sacks leader Vic Beasley.

Will there ever be a 300 lb player breaking 4.6 in the 40?  I can almost guarantee that there will.  Myles Garrett is proof that we are much closer to that than we think.   At some point these guys are going to have skin tougher than bullet proof vests.   This is just insane.
