Unsettling Numbers: Trump’s First Month in Office
As a passionate writer and film enthusiast, I never thought I’d be diving into the world of politics. But here I am, wishing this were a fictional plotline in a movie or TV show. Unfortunately, it’s not. A startling new figure has emerged, shedding light on how President Donald Trump has spent his first month in office. The Washington Post broke down Trump’s activities in his first month with a simple pie chart posted on Twitter. The numbers are highly alarming. While the Post admits their methodology isn’t 100% accurate, it’s unfortunately pretty darn close.
For example, Trump has spent nearly a quarter of his time in office in Florida, 25 hours of which he’s spent golfing. He also spent around 13 hours actively Tweeting, which is over twice as many as he’s spent on intelligence briefings.
Non-Work Time: What’s the President Up To?
The most significant chunk of Trump’s time is 399 hours of “non-work time” between D.C. and Florida, which could mean anything from watching TV to, well, watching more TV. Could it be that the President just doesn’t know what to do as President? I mean, I guess “running the country” is too simple a definition of his responsibility. But spending that many “non-work hours” in the Oval Office isn’t going to get the job done.
Here’s the graph by the Post:
Trump’s 1st month in office includes:
