Of all the coverage of the Michael Flynn resignation Seth Meyers by far nailed it on his show last night. While many outlets have been focusing on the reasons behind the resignation and collusion with the Russians, Meyers pointed out how short his tenure actually was. We all know it lasted only 24 days but Meyers captured it brilliantly. First he gives this quote.
“We’re just over three weeks into the Trump administration and we’ve already got our first major resignation, which means, that in a way, Flynn did accomplish something historic,” Meyes said. “According to the Washington Post, he set a record with his resignation as the White house national security adviser, no one in the 64-year history of the role had a shorter tenure than his.”
Then Meyers and his team came up with a proper “Send Off” video equipped with somber music an intro that gets the viewer ready for some tearful highlights. However, as you’ll see there’s not much to go on. In fact Meyers likened Flynn’s time as National Security Advisor to that of the time it takes him to use a disposable razor.
