Every year, new television shows are released. Some of these shows turn out to be major hits, while others don’t make it past the first season. Rambo: New Blood
In 2016, the networks started bringing back old movies and old television shows and turned them into hit series. The ones that they tried this with became hits. Lethal Weapon, Hawaii 50, and MacGyver are all remakes of movies and television shows, and they all became huge hits. In 2017, we will see another remake. This time it is of the film, Rambo. According to reports, Sylvester Stallone will be the executive producer of the show. The original Rambo films, Rambo was a Vietnam Veteran who uses his military training to get vigilante justice. The new show will follow Rambo’s son. It is a continuation of the Rambo saga.
Prison Break: Sequel
Fans of the show Prison Break will be thrilled to know that there is going to be a new series based on the same characters. The original Prison Break ran from 2005 until 2009. In the original, an innocent man is sentenced to death row as part of a political conspiracy. It is up to the man’s brother to get himself sent to prison so that he can break them both out. In the end, it is believed that Michael, the hero brother, is killed, but he wasn’t. It turns out that Michael is alive, and he is locked up in a prison in Yemen. This time, it is up to Lincoln and Sara to get him out. The same cast of characters are returning, which should make fans of the original Prison Break happy.
The Deuce
The Deuce takes viewers on a nostalgic look back on the 1970’s and the 1980’s. It isn’t exactly about the happy times, however, It takes a look at a time when prostitution and porn were just starting to become popular in Manhattan. The legalization of the porn industry was huge in New York City back then. The show is based around the rise of HIV, the violence and drugs involved in the sex industry, and how the real estate boom helped build the porn industry. This series stars James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Carr, and Emily Meade.
Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies is a series premiering in 2016, based on the novel by Liane Moriarty. The show is about a group of mothers whose children all attend school together. Not too long after they meet, their lives begin to unravel. The show follows the mothers and their families through the trials and tribulations of their lives. The cast consists of a few A-List actresses, including Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, and Nicole Kidman. Also in the show are Zoe Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgard, and James Tupper.
The Terror
This is another television series that is based on a novel. This one is based on the 2007 best-selling novel, The Terror, by Dan Simmons. In this show, a crew of the Royal Naval expedition is out searching for the Northwest Passage in the Arctic. It is known to be a dangerous, treacherous path. While the crew is searching for the path, they find a monstrous predator instead. The cast is made up of a cast that is less known than some of the other television series premiering in 2017. The show stars Jared Harris, Mikey Collins, Edward Ashley, and Ciaran Hinds, among others.
24: Legacy

This show is part of the 24 franchise. The story revolves around a military hero who returns to the United States after being deployed and trouble follows him home. With nowhere to turn and nobody to keep him safe, he turns to the CTU to save his life. In the process, they team up to keep one of the largest terror attacks on American soil from happening. The show stars Corey Hawkins, who is known for Straight Outta Compton, Non-Stop, and Iron Man 3. It also stars Raphael Acloque, Anna Diop, and Miranda Otto.
Mallbrats
Fans of the 1995 classic, Mallrats will be thrilled to see the release of this show. The show is a sequel to the movie, and many of the characters from the movie will be coming back to star in the show. Some of them include Kevin Smith, Shannen Doherty, Jeremy London, and Jason Lee. This show was originally supposed to be a movie, however, it was decided in early 2016 that the script would be turned into a television show.
The Expendables
Fans of the Expendables franchise will be happy to know that the legacy goes on in the form of a television show. There isn’t much information regarding the cast of the show. All we know is that one of the executive producers is Sylvester Stallone. The only other thing that we know is that it will be a tv series based on the films. The Mist
This is yet another television series based on a book and it is also based on a movie. Steven King wrote a novella about a town that is suddenly covered by a mysterious mist. The series stars Isiah Whitlock Jr. Bill Car, Gus Birney, and Luke Cosgrove, among others. Fans of Steven King’s films and books should definitely tune into this show.
Powerless
Powerless is a comedy that focuses on an insurance agency who tries to keep up with claims filed as a result of the destruction left behind by DC Superheros. The show stars Vanessa Hudgens, who is known her her roles in the High School Musical films. It also stars Atlin Mitchell from the Twilight franchise, and Danny Pudi from Captain America: Winter Solider.
With all of the new shows coming out in 2017 there will likely be no shortage of things to watch.
