The nominations for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards (otherwise known as the 2016 Emmys) were announced Thursday morning by Anthony Anderson (black-ish) and Lauren Graham (Netflix’s upcoming Gilmore Girls revival). Out of all the shows nominated for Emmys, Game of Thrones led the pack with 23 nominations, but The People v. O.J. Simpson was right behind with 22 nods, followed by Fargo with 18.
Additionally, some new blood finally entered the Emmy race, as The Americans received its first nomination for Outstanding Drama, with series stars Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell also being recognized for their work in the lead acting categories. Furthermore, black-ish nabbed a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, Ellie Kemper broke into the Lead Actress in a Comedy Series race for her work in Season 2 of Kimmy Schmidt, and Constance Zimmer got a Supporting Actress nod for her work as Quinn in Lifetime’s UnREAL.
