So we’re in week 3, and Duck Dynasty Season 7 is just as good as the show ever was. I mean, from a reality show, you can never expect too much, but when you have expectations, Duck Dynasty‘s band of rednecks can certainly deliver. This show never fails to make me laugh.
This week, our main plot involved Willie (inspired by his daughter’s horseback riding lessons) investing in a race horse. Of course, he took his two brothers and his eccentric uncle along for the ride, which made for some great one-liners. Willie wasn’t sure he wanted to invest in a horse, and so he ended up settling on a cheaper one, while Jase invested in the prize behind his back! Turns out Captain Explosion was the way to go, because Willie lost. Big time.
In the other, slightly less entertaining story of the evening: Phil and Kay decided to buy a birdbath to deter their dog from eating all the birds that come around. I guess the dog of a duck hunter takes after his owner, eh? Anyway, if you thought taking Phil Robertson (and Martin and Godwin) to one of those outdoor stores that sells birdbaths, gnomes, and concrete statues would be entertaining. You’d be right. It was good for a lot of laughs, and they eventually settled on a nice birdbath whose centerpiece was a Fleur De Lis. Who dat? The world may never know.
All in all, another strong episode was in the books from Duck Dynasty. It’s not going to be cracking any top 10 lists anytime soon, but it had everything an entertaining half hour reality show needs. One liners, redneck antics, and Uncle Si!
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the episode:
“Some people call me ‘cheap’. I prefer the term ‘business savvy”- Willie
“How about Captain Explosion?”- Si, naming the horse
“The running water got him”- Phil, on Godwin
“I found me some garden wizards”- Godwin, on gnomes
All in all, another solid Duck Dynasty episode. After seven seasons, episodes this good are hard to crank out, but that hasn’t stopped our Duck Commander crew. What did you guys think? Are you enjoying Duck Dynasty’s seventh season so far? Let us know!
