One thing is for certain, actress and model, Nargis Fakhri has come what seems to be an eternity from her appearances on America’s Next Top Model. While the multitalented Fakhri still models, she is exploring the idea of broadening her horizons through acting and other endeavors along the way. Although she is intent on taking acting seriously, to this point she has appeared predominantly in Hindi films; however, she is definitely making some serious moves to put herself in proper position to have an impact in Hollywood. The truth is that Hollywood has proven itself to be either or feast or famine for professional models. Some have made a great go of it while others have gotten lost in the shuffle.
While Nargis has a significant fan base, there is still a lot about her than fans don’t know. Following are five things you most likely didn’t know about Nargis Fakhri.
1. She Suffers from a Significant Case of OCD
While the term “obsessive-compulsive disorder” is tossed around a lot, it can be a serious and debilitating condition. There are people who cannot even leave their homes because of obsessions that are beyond compulsive. Nargis admits she suffers from a major case of OCD. According to sources near her, she refuses to shake anyone’s hand if there is no bacterial wipe for her to clean her hands immediately afterward – she actually prefers to just speak and avoid the direct contact.
2. She Is a Queens Girl At Heart
There is this outlandish idea that all models come from some fairytale world where everyone is a super model and diva. The truth is some models come from some pretty challenging background to snatch their piece of fame and fortune, and Nargis is a product of Queens. The streets of New York has never been an easy place for a child to grow up, but Nargis grew up on the streets of Queens and she admits having seen some really crazy stuff during the process.
3. She is Not a Native Hindi Speaker
Her fans who have seen the Hindi film, Rockstar, may be under the impression that Nargis is a native Hindi speaker, but the truth is that when she was cast for that role, she did not speak one word of Hindi. She was simply fed those lines, and she admits that she did not have a clue what she was saying. That takes some talent to provide the right gestures, facial expressions and voice fluctuation when you don’t know what you are saying. Wow!
4. She Hates Getting Her Hair and Makeup Done
What model can’t stand getting made up and styled? The fact that sources have confirmed that Nargis literally hates having to go through the process of getting all made up and having her hair done. If it were up to her she would probably spend all of the times in jeans, a t-shirt and a baseball cap. As mentioned earlier, she is a Queens girl at the core.
5. She Doesn’t Think She is Sexy
Nargis is not the first gorgeous model who expressed that they did not view themselves as being sexy, but I am not sure if I believe any of them, especially Nargis. I do understand that beauty and being sexy is in the eye of the beholder, but there is still a universal standard that she totally blows away. Maybe there are other issues that lead to her not feeling sexy, but she is most likely alone in that category.
