A lot of times it’s hard to know whether to listen to the media or the individual they’re covering when it comes to the overall drama since quite honestly there are times when the media gets it right and there are times when the individual just seems to deserve the bad press, as well as times when it’s obvious they’re being picked on. In Laci Kaye Booth’s case though it’s really hard to figure out since on one hand she does seem to bring some of the controversial attention on herself while on the other hand it would seem that the media is just trying to stir up a hornet’s nest with every word for the fun of it. In any case she has pushed forward with her music career and seems to be doing just fine even when the spotlight hits and she seems to be a little more orange than she did at other times. Hey, bad tans happen.
Here are a few things about Laci you might not have known.
10. She’s got a healthy following on social media.
There are a lot of people that have decided to follow her and see just how far her career is going to go and she’s been fairly active on social media as you can tell from the number of photos she takes and shares and the way she seems to gush over her boyfriend.
9. Fashion seems to be a big part of her life.
This isn’t too much of a surprise considering that she’s in the public eye quite a bit and likely wants to put her best look forward at all times. She’s definitely styling wherever she goes and doesn’t seem to miss a beat when she’s out and about.
8. Her father is, as a lot of people know, a famous country singer.
Her dad is country singer Jody Booth and he’s been a big inspiration in her life from a very young age. It definitely gives a person an edge when it comes to performing when someone close to them has already been there and done that.
7. She seems to deflect when it’s mentioned that she’s had cosmetic surgery.
Whether she ever answers the questions that deal with her going under the knife or not it would seem that a few articles are kind of sparse in their details when it comes to her really talking about whether she’s had any work done or not. That’s kind of curious to be be honest, almost as though she doesn’t want to answer.
6. Laci has been singing since she was 3.
When kids start singing at this age it usually develops into something that’s more of a hobby than anything, but as they get older and they develop a lovely singing voice, some of them, tend to think that it might be a good idea to put it to use if that’s their passion. And if they already have a famous singer in the family then so much the better since it gives them the drive to keep going.
5. She’s been compared to Kylie Jenner in terms of looks.
Obviously her boyfriend doesn’t mind the comparison since a lot of people think that Kylie is quite beautiful. But for those that don’t really want to make the comparison it’d be all too easy to say that of course she looks like Kylie, she looks like someone that didn’t care for her looks the way they were, which seemed fine honestly, and wanted to make a few improvements and then pretend she was born that way.
4. It was kind of confusing to a lot of fans that she was given the save on American Idol.
One of the other competitors turned in a much more dynamic performance than she did, which was what made her continued appearance kind of confusing since it was said that she didn’t really engage with the audience as much. This kind of maks it look as though American Idol is playing favorites and possibly looking for more than just singing talent.
3. It’s said that music helped her to reconnect with her father.
This is definitely a positive note in her life that is kind of uplifting and very inspirational.
2. There’s something newsworthy about her and her boyfriend being together.
For some odd reason Alyssa Norwin from Hollywood Life and many others seem to have this fixation on Laci and her boyfriend being together. Why it’s worthy of being mentioned is hard to say, but a little blurb here and there might be worth the effort instead of a full paragraph.
1. The media sites went kind of nuts on her for having such a badly botched spray tan.
Matt Beck of Talent Recap at least took it a bit further and wrote that she did admit to botching her tan and not being happy about it. So in all honesty she was aware of being a little too orange at one point and was adamant about fixing the problem.
She’s got star power obviously, but it seems as though she might have a while before she’s really fully accepted by a wider audience.
